About Coaching
NSWFA recognises that it is in the best interests of the sport to have as many accredited coaches as possible. This especially applies to providing fencing coaching in schools.

The NSWFA therefore strongly supports the process of coaching accreditation. It does this by:
• Conducting coach training programs.
• Providing administrative support for candidates to obtain or upgrade their accreditation.
• and by referring enquiries received to accredited coaches.

All coaches and volunteers who work with children (under the age of 18) must comply with the NSW Working With Children Check administered by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian. NSWFA is required to verify the WWCC compliance of coaches engaged by NSWFA.

The NSWFA Head Coach leads a team of qualified coaches who provide training for fencers from beginners to elite athletes at the NSW Fencing Centre and the Sydney Academy of Fencing located at the Centre.

Accredited coaches also provide tuition in fencing at clubs and schools.
