FIE CompetitionsPage content: Name on jacket : Logo on breeches : Sabre mask with transparent visor Competitions run by the FIE - e.g. World Championships, Grand Prix and World Cup events - have the same standards for protective equipment and blades as are required for AFF tournaments. That is:
However, at FIE events there are additional requirements for labelling of the jacket and breeches , and in some cases there are also extra requirements for sabre masks. These regulations apply to FIE events held in Australia as well as overseas. When competing in non-FIE events overseas, fencers are advised to check with the organisers as to the minimum requirements. Name on jacketFencers must have the back of their jacket stencilled with their surname and official country abbreviation. For foil and sabre fencers, the labelling must be on the lame jacket; for epeeists it must be on the white jacket. Equipment suppliers should be able to advise about stencilling on new and existing jackets. Logo on breechesFencers' breeches must bear their country's official logo on both legs. Sabre masksCertain FIE sabre events require fencers to use sabre masks with a transparent visor.
