Affiliated FencersAffiliation is the most comprehensive level of membership of the NSWFA. There are two levels of affilated fencers - Senior Affilation (aged 21 or over as at 1 January) and Junior Affilation (under 21 as at 1 January). Affilated fencers may compete in competitions run by the NSWFA and the AFF. Affiliated fencers over the age of 18 may vote at General Meetings of the NSWFA. They may also act as Club Delegates to NSWFA Council meetings, and hold positions on the NSWFA Executive. In 2008, Senior Affiliation costs $120 and Junior Affiliation $90. Registered FencersAs with Affiliation, Registration is divided into two categories - Junior and Senior. Registered fencers may only compete in certain NSWFA competitions - Novice, Schools and Under-13. They may not compete in AFF competitions. Registered fencers may attend General and Council meetings of the NSWFA, but they may not vote or act as Club delegates. In 2008, Registration costs $35 for Seniors, and $30 for Juniors. Honorary MembersIndividuals may be elected to Honorary Membership at a General Meeting of the NSWFA. Honorary members may compete in competitions run by the NSWFA and the AFF, and may vote at General Meetings of the NSWFA. They may also act as Club Delegates to NSWFA Council meetings, and hold positions on the NSWFA Executive. No fee is payable for honorary membership. CoachesCoaches must be over the age of 18 and must have a coaching qualification recognised by the Australian Council of Coaches or AFF. Coaches may attend and vote at all General Meetings of the NSWFA. In 2008, the fee for coaches who do not wish to compete in NSWFA or AFF competitions is $100, and for those who do wish to compete (i.e. who wish to combine coaching and affiliation membership) the fee is $150. Coaches who are already Honorary Members of NSWFA have a fee of $50. Honorary Life MembersHonorary Life Membership is the most prestigious award available to the Association. As such the nomination and award should be given careful consideration. Honorary Life Membership Nomination Form
AssociatesThis category of membership is for those people who wish to be members of the NSWFA but not to participate directly. Associates may not compete in NSWFA or AFF competitions. They may attend General and Council meetings of the NSWFA, but they may not vote or act as Club delegates. In 2008, the fee for Associates is $20. Club affiliationIn addition to individual membership, the structure of the NSWFA recognises Fencing Clubs in NSW. A Club must have at least 7 NSWFA members to be eligible for Club Affiliation. Affiliated Clubs may send two voting delegates to every meeting of the NSWFA Council. They also benefit from the NSWFA's insurance policy. This covers all affiliated clubs for Personal Accident, Officers' Liability and Public Liability. In 2008, Club Affiliation costs $50. Online membership payment is not available for clubs. An Affiliation form is available for download (see below). Affiliated clubs are also requested to complete the Information Form, as this helps us provide information about what each club offers to the general public. Club Affiliation Form
