Members of NSW Fencing will be saddened to hear of the passing on 25 July of Andrew Ius, the former President of the Australian Fencing Federation.
A service celebrating Andrew’s life will be held at 10:00am on Friday, 4 August 2017 at Nelson Brothers Funeral Home at 81 Kororoit Creek Road, Williamstown. Members of the fencing community are welcome to attend.
Andrew’s contribution to the AFF was recognised by the award of Life Membership in May 2017 – the citation outlining the full extent of Andrew’s contribution to Australian fencing is available on the AFF website(click).
Andrew gave dedicated service to the advancement of Australian fencing during his 32 years on the AFF board and especially in his 7 years as President when the modern governance of the AFF and the development of the high performance program were key achievements under his leadership.
We express our condolences to Andrew’s wife Helen Smith and his family on behalf the many fencers in New South Wales who counted him as a friend.
