The Roberta Nutt Shield

The Roberta Nutt Shield, is named after a stalwart of NSW fencing. Pictured is Roberta’s daughter, Abigail, who is a successful veteran fencer, winning the Australian Veteran Women’s Epee Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Roberta’s son Nigel, a former Australian foil champion, fences in the ACT.

NSWFA will farewell Marrickville PCYC with a big competition this weekend. On Saturday, we’ll hold the Roberta Nutt Shield schools comp for U15s in three weapons and on Sunday we’ll hold the Roberta Nutt Shield for U13s, U11s and U9s. Also on Sunday, the Sydney Olympic Junior Cup for U20s. After this weekend, NSW School and State competitions will be held at the new NSW Fencing Centre in Alexandria.
